Printable Tattoo Stencils

Free outline stencils, sized to print on Letter or A4. Download as PDF.

Print at the right size

  1. Choose your paper

Download the Letter PDF for US Letter paper, or the A4 PDF for A4. Printing the wrong one shrinks the design.

  2. Print at 100%

In the print dialog, choose "Actual size" or a scale of 100%. Avoid "Fit to page", which changes the size.

  3. Measure the bar

Every page has a 1 inch and a 2 cm bar. If the printed bar measures right, the stencil is the right size.

Questions

Are these tattoo stencils free?

Yes. Every single-design PDF on this site is free to download and print for personal use, such as practising or tattooing yourself or a friend.

Can I use them for a real tattoo?

Yes, that is what they are for. Print the stencil, transfer it with stencil paper or transfer gel, and check the placement in a mirror before you start. If you are new to tattooing, practise on synthetic skin first.

What paper do I need?

Plain printer paper is fine for checking size and placement. To transfer onto skin, use thermal or hectograph stencil paper, or trace the printout onto carbon transfer paper.

How do I make a stencil bigger or smaller?

Each PDF is set to a size that suits the design. To change it, set a custom scale in your print dialog: 120% makes it 20% larger. The 1 inch bar on the page scales with it, so you can always measure the result.

Can I sell tattoos or merchandise made with these designs?

Tattooing a client with a printed stencil is fine. Reselling the designs themselves, as files, prints or products, is not allowed.
